Hi! I’m Kevin Hackett, Principal Optometrist and owner of Kevin Hackett Optometrist.
At the age of 16, I decided that becoming an Optometrist and dedicating my work to the care of eyes was what I wanted to do. For me, it’s all about looking after your most precious sense- your vision- and improving your quality of life.
After graduating in 1978 from Auckland University (yes, I’m a Kiwi!) I made the big leap across the ditch to take up an Optometrist role in Perth, Western Australia. I had planned to stay in Australia for 12 months, yet I’ve been here ever since!
In 1982, Northgate Shopping Centre in Geraldton was established. Being a keen windsurfer and drawn to the laidback lifestyle of the Midwest, I jumped at the chance to move to ‘The Windy City’. In October of that year, my practice opened its doors for the very first time. Since then I have built a loyal patient base and am honoured to have cared for many generations of Geraldton and Midwest families.
Over the years, technology has advanced significantly; I am now using equipment I had only ever dreamed of. This state-of-the-art technology allows me to detect, treat, solve and even prevent eye and vision problems. You can be confident that I will only ever prescribe a product or treatment plan that is the best solution for you and your lifestyle.
